How to Save TikTok Videos You Want to Remember

A simple way to save useful TikToks, keep the idea behind them, and find them after they disappear from your feed.

By Yuri

A TikTok is easy to like and hard to find again. Favourites and collections keep a cover and a sound. They do not keep the sentence you actually wanted: the method, the name of the tool, the order of the steps.

The video can also vanish. The account goes private, the sound is removed, or the post is deleted. A heart does not store a copy of what was said.

Save the idea, then the clip

When a video is worth keeping, do three things before you scroll:

  1. If the creator put the steps on screen or in the caption, that text is the part you will search later. A link to the video is how you get back to the clip.
  2. Write one line, even roughly, about why you saved it. “Sourdough timing” is a better memory than the creator’s username.
  3. Put that link in a library that is not the For You page. The feed is built to show you the next thing, not the last thing.

TikTok’s own favourites are the right tool for “watch this again tonight”. They are a weak tool for “what was that technique called in March”.

Transcripts are the expensive part

Spoken video is not free to turn into text. A short clip with on-screen words is cheap to understand. A long talking-head video has to be heard. Any tool that transcribes it is paying for those minutes, and a ten-minute video costs much more than a photo post.

So be picky. Save the videos whose words you will want. Skip the ones you only enjoyed.

Where Yuri fits

Forward the public TikTok link to Yuri on Telegram, or use Save to Yuri when the video is open in Chrome. On Basic and Pro, Yuri keeps the link and, where it can, the words, a short explanation, tags, and a next step. Starter stores the link without that. Search on Basic and Pro is how you find “the pasta one” without remembering the sound.

Yuri does not watch your TikTok account. It processes the link you chose.

Plans, as published on 6 October 2026: Starter is free for 25 links a month. Basic is €4,99 a month or €49,99 a year, up to 400 saved links. Pro is €12,99 a month or €129,99 a year, up to 1,200 links, and includes Ask Yuri. Details sit in pricing.
